About

I am not a priest. I am not a pastor. I am an actor. I go to Japanese weddings and play the part of a Christian preacher. I am paid handsomely for this service. The couples are happy. I am happy. Everyone is happy.

This is a blog with stories from this world. The wedding industry in Japan has often been profiled  in the international media, but in a rather superficial way. I hope this blog will reveal a bit more.

More context. How many Bokushi in Japan, salaries, singers in hotel rooms…You know what I mean!

  1. It’s coming my child. Be patient.

  2. It’s important to note that there are over 500 FAKE PRIESTS in Japan. Most are middle-aged teachers with a mortgage and bad grooming habits. They own ONE suit. Mis-Matched with the ONLY tie in their wardrobe. Also, Russians in Tokyo now are taking over, for a salary of 8,000 yen per wedding! Long live THE SOVIET UNION!

  3. Maybe out in the sticks, but where the bokushi I run into are usually well dressed, fluent Japanese speakers. Have never met any Russians doing this work, interesting! More details, please.
